We’d planned for three nights in Vancouver to recover from jetlag, and before catching our train to Jasper. Although exhausted after trans-continental flight and a sleepless first night, we still wanted to make the most of our time and packed a lot into the day.
We did a ‘hop-on hop-off’ bus tour with Westcoast Sightseeing, saw the Canada Place – an iconic landmark and venue for world-class events, and strolled through the Harbour Green Park from where we could watch seaplanes coming and going. We took 6-kilometres long walk alongside the Stanley Park Seawall, took a ferry to a bustling Granville Island where we grabbed something to eat in a fabulous public market.
Back in the hotel, we crushed out to beds at 5PM, to wake up rested around 2AM the next day. Our bodies were still operating at Greenwich Mean Time.
