Lesson Number 2

Saying ‘yes’ to fewer cool things is the way out

Most of us say ‘yes’ to too much stuff. We let these irrelevant things drain our energy, wear us down and cannibalize our time. In the end, we pay the price of massive distraction, overwhelm and emotional exhaust. Focus is key to everything. It’s about having the wisdom to stop exploring when you found something worth sticking around for. My travel projects give me purpose, true purpose.

I learned the value of going deep on a few things rather than engaging with a broad set of activities. There are much better things to do than watching TV. I minimized social media and learned that laziness is never the right path. And that’s a great lesson, because you can’t get a lazy day back. It’s gone forever.
