Part of me was expecting that once the train left Vancouver, we’d slow down, settle into a relaxing rhythm, and maybe have time to write or read. As we were to learn, that wasn’t going to happen soon. The juice is in sharing experiences with fellow passengers, so in no time we made new friendships with two couples – from the Netherlands and Australia.
There is something unique in people on long-distance trains – they are laid back, not in a hurry, and extremely friendly. Diverse ages, interests, professions, nationalities, but all united by a desire of an adventure.
So, the conversations flowed happily when we were rolling through the Rocky Mountains, sitting in the Skyline car, taking in stunning sceneries, shooting photos and laughing. Meeting like-minded people is pure magic. The memories will last forever.
