Our cruise-ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn in Estonia was scheduled for 11:30am. So, we ate our breakfast, packed our things, and were at the Katajanokka Terminal shortly after 10 o’clock. This time, we had only a day and a half in the capital of Finland, but it’s an adorable place which makes us want to return there again.
I must say that there is something appealing in the atmosphere of railway stations, airports or harbors, and we are always fascinated by the process of on-boarding and departure. As we pushed further from the coast to the blue sea, the islands of the archipelago surrounding the city became flacks, and, finally faded away.
Our cruise-ferry – MS Viking XPRS – was tailor-made specifically for the traffic between Finland and Estonia over the Gulf of Finland, and the crossing takes about 2.5 hours.
