Today, it was the final day of our trip. I could hardly believe that the Episode I of our Baltic Sea odyssey was over. It was very emotional for me on every level. I was keen that we made it safe alongside the Gulf of Bothnia. We traveled a long way, but only now I realized how fast the days had passed. It was absolutely amazing journey. Chasing daily mileages, passing through small towns and villages, exploring spectacular beaches, taking many boat trips including the ones through the archipelago of Helsinki and Stockholm, driving through the stunningly beautiful High Coast, visiting islands of Ulvön and Hailuoto, and finally cruising the Åland Islands, was so good and magical. These were great days, and I realized how fortunate we were to be able to make this trip and experience all those things.
We spent our last day lazily hanging around Stockholm’s narrow cobblestone streets, stopping to look at the shop fronts or listening to street performers. We took a 3-hours boat trip combined with a lunch on board, and walked alongside the busy docks soaking up their vibrant atmosphere. I loved a wonderful chilled and friendly feel of the city.
