It’s places as wonderful as the Silver Strand beach at Malin Beg in County Donegal that are dangerous to those with the ambition of driving the entire Wild Atlantic Way, because they make you want to stay there for a long time. How can one bear to leave something so beautiful?
Our day exploded in a clean and cloudless sky, so we spent a good chunk of the afternoon on that beach. The cliffs in horse-shoe shape provide a sharp boundary with the ocean, and a total shelter. With gentle waves, sunshine, the golden sand and the surrounding greenery we found ourselves in complete calm and silence and were chilled as always.
The entire atmosphere seemed to have smiled. ‘Lie down and enjoy the scenery’ it seems to have been saying.
Oh my gosh! This place was magnificent! For those taking the Wild Atlantic Way, it should be an obligatory stop to pay the tribute to the Mother Nature.
