Since ancient times, tales of Sicily’s beauty have spread far and wide. Centuries ago, the Romans and the Greeks were captivated by the island’s charm. Countless poets have sung Sicily’s prises.
We spent eight days on the island. Having the consistency and staying at the resort really did make us feel like we were on holidays.
Each morning we would wake up, fuel ourselves with croissants with coffee or orange juice, then sit at the swimming pool or on the beach. After lunch, we would take a nap and cool off from the blazing heat, and then either head again to the beach or swimming pool, or we would put our foot on the gas and drove around.
We walked the streets of Likata, explored Ortigia, visited Agrigento, and spent enjoyable few hours in Palermo.
It was a nice escape from our digital world, an escape to life that is simpler, less consumeristic, more natural, more down-to-earth.
