When we entered Achill Island in County Mayo there were sheep everywhere. It just reminded me that the Wild Atlantic Way is the world of sheep. They are the stars of this ancient land. They graze the upland and hill territories un-bothered by strong winds or rains, and sometimes even pose proudly for the camera.

We love sheep and are grateful for their wool.
